•    Collects, retains custody of, and disburses county funds

• Ensures that sudden and unexpected death, or those deaths that occur under violent or suspicious circumstances, are thoroughly investigated.

• Records and preserves public records, including: deeds, mortgages, liens, releases, leases, articles of incorporation, assumed business names, military discharges, subdivision plats, and uniform commercial code filing.

•    Financial power of the county
•    Serves as the check on the County Commissioners 
•    Fixes county tax rates 
•    Makes appropriations and transfers funders
•    Adopts annual budgets
•    Borrows money 
•    Fixes salaries 
•    Levies taxes to maintain county jails 

COUNTY SURVEYOR

• Administers county land survey records

• Re-establishes and maintains official government survey monuments. 

• Reviews property boundaries, surveys, and subdivision plans. 

COUNTY TREASURER

• Collects, retains custody of, and distributes county funds. 

• Collects various taxes, including: local and state property taxes, inheritance taxes, and delinquent taxes. 

• Issues property tax statements. 

COUNTY COMMISSIONER

• Acts as the executive branch of the county government. 

• Provides a variety of county services, including: building code enforcement, public works, property registration, and public health. 

COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBER
